Each year around the first week of August, water samples are gathered from around Sixth and Seventh Lakes. A number of us then take the samples and test for water chemistry. This is coordinated with Hamilton County. Click here for the full set of data collected over a number of years.
During the last half of the summer, a secchi disk is lowered into the lake and dropped town to a point where it is no longer visible, This is a test for water clarity.
Also, water conductivity is checked around the shoreline of both lakes. This is a test for septic seepage.
