Each year around the first week of August, water samples are gathered from around Sixth and Seventh Lakes. A number of us then take the samples and test for water chemistry. This is coordinated with Hamilton County. Click here for the 2022 survey results.
During the last half of the summer, a secchi disk is lowered into the lake and dropped town to a point where it is no longer visible, This is a test for water clarity.
Also, water conductivity is checked around the shoreline of both lakes. This is a test for septic seepage.
